The A Lunchers all chose a word today from our poetry words that resonated with them. Then we went around and said why. Here's a sampling of what words they chose and why. For the few who didn't get to share today, we will hear you next week...or you could leave a comment on the blog and share that way! Here we go:
* friend--we're all friends in here and we're honest with each other.
* strong--my friend has been through a lot and is so strong. She inspires me.
* sister--we help each other out.
* compassionate--my aunt donates things she makes to others and it inspires me.
* united--I like the idea of being united in the Sisterhood.
* confident--if you believe in yourself and think you can do something, that's half the battle!
* thoughtful--this is something I am working on.
* generous--being nice is really important, and if you're nice to someone, they'll usually be nice back to you. Plus it's important to be generous with your time.
* brave--my brother has had to go through a lot of changes and I think he's brave.
* encourager--a little goes a long way to make people feel good.
* truthful--it's important to be truthful to friends and family and to yourself, too. If you are true to yourself, people will like you for who you really are!
* integrity--this goes along with being true to yourself. This means doing what you think is right, regardless of what others think.
Thanks for sharing today, Sisters!!!

ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm really glad both lunches got to do this activity - having a word to think about that's sort of "yourself" is nice...
