Let's Help a Sister Out

A Sister recently left this comment on the 'Stereotypes' post from a few months ago. I thought she asked a really great question, so I wanted to throw it out there to all you Sisters. Please weigh in with your comment.

I don't exactly know who i am so it is really hard to be myself when i can't exactly! what can i do to find out who i am? it is really hard to deal with everyone saying 'act like yourself!' when you don't know who that is!

also, talking about stereotypes can be hurtful when you ARE one of those 'popular' people. people always stereotype them too. they might seem cool but they really just want to fit in too. i know a lot of popular people and a lot of them have even said that they feel pressure ALL THE TIME.

I think when something makes you feel happy, then that is part of you. Also, your heritage. When I go to Californa, I feel like myself. I was born in Mexico, but moved here when I was a toddler. Californa is a bit of both cultures. I agree, it's very, very hard to find yourself. Just don't fall into the trap, because of most people, it is not being yourself.

Who you are is what you do because you want to, not necessarily out of laziness but not necessarily because you have to or should.

Who you are is what you think when you don't have to say what's on your mind.

Who you are is the path you choose from the influences you value, not the influences that will hurt you if you ignore them.

...Just a few thoughts...

Have you read Harry Potter? The 5th and 7th ones helped me find myself.
