Today we talked about how where ever girls look, 'sexy' is being pushed on them. Movies. TV shows. Magazines. Music. Music videos, especially rap. Retail. Peers. Guys.
* Do you think a sexy appearance is important to girls?
* At what age do you think it starts 'mattering?'
* Who are some female media stars who are role models for girls today, and how does the objectification and attempted sexiness of those girls influence regular girls?
* What do YOU think of all this?

This was our last Sisterhood of the school year. Thank you for the amazing discussions! We'll be back in the fall and even if you're not here, you'll always be a Pine Lake SISTER!

I look up to any celebrity who has pulled of being sexy and something else. Like sexy and strong or sexy and smart. But you don't have to have "the body" to be beautiful, like America Ferrera. She is great! Since everybody grows in different times, its sad that girls in PLMS are trying to pull off that look. I mean, who are you fooling?
A sexy appearance is important to lots of girls, even though it probably shouldn't be. I've noticed that especially at Abercrombie and Hollister, they seem to emphazie it. A lot. Abercrobie even said about their perfume:"The official smell of sexy." It's annoying! Plus all the half-naked models...It's a clothing store, so why aren't the models wearing any?
Well I have a whole bunch of "guy friends" and I mean WHOLE. Any way I come to pine lake park in a two piece
bathing suit and all of the sudden they all start whistling and howling. I felt completely humiliated. They all knew me as the tough, "don't mess with me" girl so I don't know if they knew what they where doing hurt the inside. What should I do next time that happens? I'll be at the park a whole lot this summer and I don't wan that to happen again.
#3, I would say, "You guys, we are just friends, and you know who I am." Just remind them that you are yourself no matter what you wear. Be strong. I tend to notice that guy friends aren't as gentle with girls emotionaly as girls are.
Abercrombie is the WORST STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
