Today we talked about a recent article in Time Magazine that outlines a program to help prevent girls from developing eating disorders. You can read it here:

This program, the Body Project, addresses many of the same issues we've discussed in the Sisterhood, like media influences, super skinny models, airbrushed images and how these things set the standard for (unrealistic)beauty in our society. Then the program encourages girls to come up with and execute small, nonviolent acts, like slipping notes saying, "Love your body the way it is" into dieting books at bookstores and posting notes on the mirror in the girls bathroom saying, "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. DON'T BE SOMEONE THAT YOU'RE NOT. BE YOURSELF."
How would you feel if you stepped into the bathroom to find a note like that?
Get out there, Sisters, and spread the word. Take the time to put a random message somewhere and help your SISTERS feel beautiful.

I would feel better if somebody said it to me instead of reading it. Because if somebody said to to just me, then it would be more personal.
personally, i think im butt ugly. my mom says im beautiful, but i dont accept the compliment. i weigh over 100 pounds and i am younger than eighteen. my stomach sticks out, my face is round, i cant run for over three seconds... this is the first thing i think when i look in the mirror: I AM UGLY
