Who Do You Dress For?

It was another great day to be a Sister, as we talked about what we wear and why we wear what we wear. On last week's blog post a Sister commented:

"Someone said that we shouldn't dress for other people, but that's not always true. You can either be yourself, or you can be controlled by other people's opinions, and it's always your decision."

So, who do you dress for? Some Sisters said that girls dress a certain way (sexy) to impress boys. Are boys looking at the clothes, though? Noooo, they are looking at the body. Who's looking at the clothes? Other girls. Do you agree or not? Leave a comment.

The B Lunch Sisters talked about moms trying to influence or sometimes restrict their daughter's personal style expression. Has this happened to you? Why do you think your mom cares about the way YOU look?

I read a short story in A Lunch called The Eye Catcher. A Lunch Sisters, what do you think the point of that story was? BLunchers, I'll read it to you next week and we'll talk...

Until then, leave a comment--you have so many important things to say, Sisters!

It's hard for me to admit this but, i dress for myself a bit of my mom, and a bit of what annoyonous people, but mostly me.

But unlike loads of people at our school, i don't believe in spending a lot of money on clothes. I tried (long ago) to spend a lot for my apprenice, but I don't think that there is a big different between designer and chain store jeans. Actually, the "Pants" that we talked about in Blunch are chain store jeans. Also, the "Pants" in the Sisterhood books are secondhand jeans for $3.50, and made 5 girls feel incredible. :D

I dress for myself, and only myself. Being a sister opens your eyes to what really matters; you. We should know our rights ad dress like we feel, whether that e super cofy, or casual or eve formal.

I think moms care aout how we dress because they were our age too. If they see we're getting all dolled up for some boy, or even some girl (to be 'popular'), They know what it feels like and don't want you to repeat their mistakes, if they made any.

Dressing for yourself is important for not only mental, but PHYSICAL reasons. If you try to fit yourself into the season's hottest skinny jeans 5 sizes too small, you'll make yourself faint or something! So dress for you and not others.

Well when you said that the boys aren't looking at the stuff you where, you were wrong! some of the people who comment me the most are boys! and they don't lace it with syrup either! they say it as it is...that is if (gulp, gasp) they ACTUALLY like you?

Just so you know, I wasn't trying to rip on the guys. There are SO many truly nice guys at PLMS. I'm just sayin' that a girl wearing a super short mini skirt and a low cut shirt may get compliments that are more about what she's showing off than what she's wearing.
Keep commenting, Sistas!

I think we are thinking of a few boys who really care the way we look. Yes, some nice boys don't care.

I think that if it's a style that you like that's super expensive, eithier make your own verision or just dont't wear it!

'Cause chances are that the people that buy it off the racks have make ajustments to the style. So if it's not comfertoble for you, dont't wear it!!!!!!

God, I don't even know why I wear things....I'm the kind of person who is constanatly spacing out and just grabbes whatever is on hand before rushing out the door.

SOmetimes I'll get to school and hate it, though.
