...this was a comment left on last week's post and it was our topic of discussion for today's Sisterhood. Why is this statement so important? And what can you personally do to ensure this? Here were some of the things said by the Sisters:
*The world will never be perfect, but if we all accepted each other, we could get closer to that ideal.
*Smile!
*Make an effort to connect with others, join a club, get involved!
*Focus on your own good qualities and be known for them.
*Don't compare yourself to others--you're YOU.
*Sometimes people are treated differently because of WHAT they are, not WHO they are.
*We can get in the habit of trashing each other--word vomit--and we need a wake up call to stop it.
*Don't allow or encourage unkind comments about others.
*Put encouraging signs up all over school. (Bring them to the Counseling Center if you want to do this--we can hang them up for you.)
Remember, we all have the power as individuals to make a difference in the world. Helen Keller once said:
"I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything but still I can do something. I will not refuse to do the something I can do."
So, what can YOU do?

I think this is a very good topic for the sisterhood. I love this statement, andi think its very sad that people will judge based on wat they are instead of who. I have recently learned that someone could look like a totally different being but then when u get to know them, they could be the nicest person you will ever meet!
I think that we really should realize that we are all different! and you shouldnt be wishing you were more like her, or them, we should be loving who we are NOW. No one is YOU except you, and u should be PROUD of that, and take advantage of it! We should also realize that its not easy for ppl to make friends of fit in sometimes, so instead of pushing them away, we should open up to them, and get their story.
Never judge a book on its cover: we hear that statement all the time, yet still ignore it. I think it's time we follow that rule. It would sure make the world, ( and our school), a better place.
Some flaws are broader than others, but the reality is that everyone has flaws, nobody's perfect and we are equal as sisters.
Everyone is different, people have different styles, interests, tastes, but everyone is united in the fact that noone is perfect and we can all come together as sistesrs to make eachtother feel welcome.
MSELLIOT AND BRITTIAN ROCK!
Everyone deserves to be accepted for who they are, yes, but define accepted?
And define 'who they are.'
Who can decide that? Them or you? What if you disagree?
From my experience, the real true friends you have are the ones who you take for granted. You focus so much on the popular friends who only care about what you look like and your popularity status. You shouldnt take true friends for granted beacause they're the ones who really except you. I think that the people who really except you are your true friends and yourself! GO SISTERHOOD!
I think people feel unaccepted when they are left out of somthing like a club. You think something is wrong with you.
