Thanks to all the Sisters who came to the all sisterhood potluck last Tuesday! It was awesome seeing A & B lunch Sisters connect. We had a lot of fun having lunch together, watching the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants movie, decorating ornaments (gotta love that Martha Stewart glitter!) and of course… signing the pants! Check out the colorful paper chain we made in the main office. Each link represents one thing Sisters enjoy about the Sisterhood and/or a special holiday memory.
Ms. Elliot led us in a discussion about remembering the simple things as we approach the holidays. No matter what you celebrate, it's good to try not to get caught up in the stress of the season, but instead to reflect on the little things that make you happy. If you didn't get a chance to share, leave a comment on the blog. We'd love to hear from you! If you missed out on the potluck, not to worry, we will be planning another All-Sisterhood event for next trimester.
This week we continued our discussion on Love and Relationships.
How do you feel or act when you are interested in someone? Have you ever had a crush? One Sister commented on the blog that when you are in love or interested in someone, you sort of get lost in your thoughts. Often times we get consumed or even obsessed with the person we like.
Here is a list of things some Sisters admitted to doing or feeling as a result of having a crush... Be honest, can you relate to doing any of these things?
-mindlessly doodling their name or initials on your hand or notebook
-feeling all giddy/happy when they are around
-intentionally dropping something when they are near to see if they help pick it up
-playing little match making games like "MASH"
-putting on perfume before you have class with them in hopes of getting their attention
-knowing exactly the # of days, hours, week that you've been together, or being absolutely devistated when you break up :(
-asking your friends to investigate and find out who your crush likes
-being overly obssessed with trying to figure out their classes or find them around campus
-walking the long way to class just to pass by your crush's class
-reading your love horoscope in the paper
-writing your name + your crush's name in pencil eraser on your desk
-leaving a note in your crush's locker without signing it
-being overly interested in something your crush likes
Maybe you can relate to one or more of these; having a crush can be fun! Or maybe you are really not into the whole dating/relationship scene--either way, that's Ok!
Have you or your friends ever changed your looks or your interests to get your crush to notice you?
Here are a few of our Sisters comments: Refuse to change who you are just to impress someone you like. There is no need to go out of your way to get all dressed up or spend hours on hair and make-up to attract someone, just be yourself! If your interested in someone, just be confindent in who you are. We all know it can be nerve wracking talking to someone you like, but just stay calm, be interested in them and most importantly just be who you are!
As one of our wise Sisters wrote on last week's blog comments, "I know when I look to the futue I could picture it without my boyfriend, but if I didn't have my friends, I wouldn't be able to survive!--Amen Sister! Thanks for the fun discussion today!

oh my gosh! last blunch, i raised my hand for all of these, and had several stories. now, i know NOT to do that far. boys are boys, but being true to yourself is more important. I know through experiance.

Answer--just leave a comment and indicate that you'd like the Sisters to chime in with their advice. I'll publish it as a new post and they can leave comments with the advice.
